A Virtual Escape Palace is a type of online escape room! It is an online puzzle adventure that takes place in a virtual palace. Each Palace is filled with mysterious rooms to explore and puzzles to solve along the way.
There is no maximum to the number of people you can sign up! However, we do recommend breaking up your group into teams of 3-4 players.
For example, you could book for a group of 8, and break up into 2 teams of 4, or you could book for a group of 800 and break up into 200 teams of 4. Access to the GAP (Game Administrator Portal) comes with your Virtual Escape Palace purchase, making it easy to manage a large group.
Find and select your prefered Virtual Escape Palace, enter the number of players in the quantity box, add to your cart, and then checkout!
Full payment is due at the time of booking. Once your purchase is complete, you'll receive a receipt and a separate email to access the Game Administrator Portal (GAP) to begin setting up your reservation!
Booking for an extra large group or have unique payment requirements? Please contact us via the form on our Contact page or email us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Right now, the best way to add extra players to an existing reservation is to email us at email@example.com. We will add them to your existing order and send you an invoice for the additional player slots!
*If you checkout again on the website, it will create a new reservation instead of adding to your existing reservation.
Every team will need a Team Captain as teams are assigned by Captain in the GAP.
We created the Team Captain role so the Group Organizer can delegate some of the individual team details to someone on each team. The Team Captain's role is to coordinate game logistics with the players on their team and to enter those details into the GAP. The Captain does not have a special role in the game.
Team Captains will have their own view of the Game Administration Portal. They will have the ability to schedule the play time, add a video conferencing link for their game, send invitations to fellow players, and even pick their own team if the group organizer allows.
You’ll have the option to make Team Captains assignments in the Game Administration Portal and send Team Captain invitations.
For most teams, The Ruby Palace takes about 1-2 hours to play. The average final time is about 90 minutes, but each team's final time will differ. We recommend blocking out about 2 hours to make sure you have plenty of time to complete the game!
There is no time limit on the Ruby Palace. Teams can take as long as they need to complete the game.
Once the players are added and teams are assigned, the Organizer or the Team Captain will be able to send an email with a play invitation link to the players. This email will include the video chat link (if the team captain added one) and a game URL unique to each team. The Team Captain can access their team's game link in the GAP to share with other players if they cannot find their invite email.
The team game link will take every player on the team to the same page. Each player simply selects their name to "log in" to the game. When they click their name, they will be sent to the game lobby where they can wait for their fellow players before entering the game. The games will be linked, but each player will have their own view.
All teams will need to use a video chat for their game. As this is not provided by the PALACESPHERE, players may choose whichever video conferencing solution they prefer.
Each player will have their own view of the game, but they will all be linked. If one player enters the correct password, it will unlock the door for the entire team.
Teams will need to communication via video conference to communicate in real time. There is not a built in chat or video function in the Palace, so teams may choose whichever service they prefer. There is a handy place in the Game Administration Portal to include a video chat link. That way, the chat link will be in the same email as the play link!
There are 3 different types of Leaderboards available: Private, Shared, and Public.
The Private Leaderboard is specific to your reservation. It will only show the teams on your reservation and cannot be shared.
Shared Leaderboards can be created in the GAP and shared with others using an invite code. This is a great option for expanding the competition within a company or larger social group. Only those with an invite code can join a shared leaderboard.
The Public Leaderboard is open to all groups! There is no invite code needed, so anyone can join.
